Cary Town Council Candidates Assembly with ONE Wake

The non-partisan ONE Wake candidate assembly for the 2025 municipal elections in Cary will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 10-11 a.m. at Cary Presbyterian Church, our neighbor (614 Griffis St) and fellow ONE Wake member institution. Please register as a St. Paul’s member; we are pledging to bring at least 35 people.
If you’ve never been to a ONE Wake Assembly before, this is how it works: ONE Wake member institutions and leadership have been hard at work researching and developing specific proposals we want to see candidates react to with either a “yes” or “no” at the event. Candidates receive these proposals in advance of the assembly so that they are not ambushed by unexpected questions or issues. After each candidate gives an affirmative “yes” or negative “no” to the proposals individually, each candidate gets an allotted time to speak as they wish (usually candidates use it to elaborate on their answers).

This year, our candidate assembly will conclude with a March to the Polls from Cary Presbyterian Church to the Herb Young Community Center so that we activate all the voters in attendance — and demonstrate that we are accountable, just as we are asking candidates to be accountable to voters.
Contact Mary Kintz or Christina Myers if you have questions.
