Advent Quiet Day: Prepare the Way

Prepare the Way: Essential Spiritual Practices for Welcoming God Everyday

Jesus was born over 2000 years ago, but the life of Christ is born anew in us, every day, as we open our lives to welcome God. In this Advent Quiet Day, the author, retreat leader, and spiritual director the Rev. Robert Fruehwirth will guide retreatants through the core elements of Christian spiritual practice — silent waiting on God, meditation on scripture, growing self-knowledge, discernment of God’s call, and recollected action.
The day will be held in a rhythm of prayer, silence for personal reflection, and formal meditations. It will end with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Optional on-line follow-up sessions will be offered in December and January for those interested in further discussion and developing a Rule of Life.
Register at this link. Suggested donation is $50; scholarships are available. Payment can be made on the day or ahead of time through this link. (Note: please select “Other” in the drop down list and indicate “Quiet Day” in the notes.) Lunch, coffee, and snacks are included.
Retreat space is limited to 24 participants. Please contact Fr. Robert at r.fruehwirth@icloud.com if you have questions.
