Faith leaders from across the area are joining together for “We Will Dwell in Safety,” a day of prayer and action at Halifax Mall in Raleigh. Join as we pray for the safety of all North Carolinians, inviting law enforcement officials into prayerful reflection on their great responsibility for public safety. This action is a response to the passage of SB153, a law that requires state law enforcement agencies, like the Highway Patrol, to collaborate with immigration enforcement.
How officers will be trained to enforce the law remains unclear, but it is a new burden on an already strained resource in law enforcement. SiembraNC and a coalition of churches across NC feel that solidarity through prayer is a first step forward in keeping us all safe.
