Some of what we heard:
You value our outreach programs and our commitment to the wider community. Ministries like ONE Wake, Refuge for Refugees, ASP and others came up repeatedly as work of the parish that matters to you.
You value our inreach – things like Care & Share, formation programming for children, youth and adults, and the sense of community that St. Paul’s offers through parish-wide events like Lobster Fest.
You value our homilies. We have been blessed with a rich tradition of preaching by clergy whose words resonate, inspire and challenge, and that matters to you all.
You value “All our Welcome.” We heard in every format and session how much those words, written above the doors and alive in the hearts of our parish family, define St. Paul’s to you.
What’s next? The committee is shaping your input into a parish profile – answering 13 questions that essentially become our job posting. With vestry approval, it will be shared widely by our diocese throughout The Episcopal Church. (We’ll also share it with you – it’ll be posted on the Transition page of the St. Paul’s website once it’s ready for distribution.) Our hope is that the posting will go live in early August, and we will update you on the timeline ahead once that happens.
We ask that you continue to hold this process in your prayers, and, as always, we welcome your questions to rectorsearch@stpaulscary.org.
Thank you for all you do for St. Paul’s and the world,
Aleta McClenney & Lanny Wase
