Hermano (Farmworker) Day (Mar 21, 2021)

Sunday, March 21, 2021 is Hermano Day (Farmworker Day). This year has presented many challenges to the farmworker community. We Paul’s can continue to support this vital work. You can help in these efforts by making a monetary donation to the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry or bring donation items to the St. Paul’s parking lot on Saturday, March 13 or Saturday, March 20 between 10:00 and 12:00 noon. Racial Equity Lenten Book Studies

We are pleased to be able to offer two book studies during Lent related to the issues of Racial Equity:

Waking Up White, and Finding Myself in the Story of Race by Debbie Irving will be discussed on Wednesday Evenings.
Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson will be discussed on Sunday Afternoons.

Food Security Update and New Volunteer Opportunity

The Western Region Food Security Group (the large group of area churches we are working with) has received extra funding from Wake County. With that extra funding we have purchased large supplies of dry goods and boxes which are being stored at The Kirk of Kildaire.
There are new volunteer opportunities.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Celebration (January 17, 2021)

Cary congregations participating in the Cary Area Ministerial Alliance (CAMA) will co-host the interfaith prayer service that is part of the Town of Cary’s “Dreamfest” during the weekend of MLK Day. Set for Sunday, January 17, at 3:30 pm, the service will originate from Christ the King Lutheran Church and will be live streamed on the church’s YouTube channel.
