Family Promise Week (Nov 27-Dec 4, 2016)

Family Promise of Wake County (formerly WIHN): St. Paul’s Family Promise week is Nov 27-Dec 4. Episcopal Farmworker Ministry Needs Assistance After Hurricane Matthew

Hurricane Matthew and the subsequent flooding in parts of North Carolina have wreaked havoc on the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry in Newton Grove and there is an immediate and urgent need for donations.  Several of the camps where the workers live have been flooded and many have lost everything.  If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make your check out to St. Paul’s and put ‘Episcopal Farmworker Ministry’ in the memo line. GoDo: Family Promise Workday (Oct 22)

The GoDo Ministry will hold a workday on Saturday, October 22. We will be working with Family Promise of Wake County (formerly Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network). Along with rotating shelters in local churches, Family Promise offers apartment-type living for families as the next step toward more stable, permanent housing.

Used Books Needed for Arts and Crafts Festival

We’re planning a used book sale as part of the Arts & Crafts Festival, to be held on November 12.  We’re looking for donations of books in very good condition. Refugee Welcome Home Party (Sep 25)

Come to a Welcome Home party for the Karen family, a refugee family who arrived in late June from Myanmar (formerly known as Burma).  The party is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, 3:30-5:30 PM in the Parish Hall and will be hosted by the Refuge for Refugees Committee.  We will have food, a Welcome Home cake, coffee, and…
