Bulletin Announcements for Sunday, Nov 24, 2019

STEWARDSHIP: VISION 2020 for the operating budget is well underway!  As we work, walk, seek, welcome, and care together for a better world, we begin that journey in our little corner at St. Paul’s.  If you have already pledged for next year, we thank you.  If you have not, we encourage you to make the effort and make a pledge today.  Wherever you are in your stewardship journey, start right there and step forward, in faith.  Your commitment in the form of a pledge allows us to plan and grow all the amazing programs and ministries we’re so fortunate to offer at St. Paul’s. Extra pledge forms are available in the narthex.  You may also go to stpaulscary.org to pledge with the push of a button.

MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS AND COFFEE HOUR: The Stewardship Committee is hosting coffee hour in the parish pall today following the 9:00 a.m. service.  The Stewardship Committee is grateful for the generosity of our parishioners and their ongoing commitment to the vision of St. Paul’s.  Please join the committee for coffee and refreshments in celebration of our common life together.

Next week Children’s Ministries will be hosting a Cookie and Craft Hour in the parish hall. Don’t miss this special opportunity to enjoy freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and make an ornament for your Christmas tree.

Sunday:  Join us at 10:10 a.m. in the chapel this morning, as we continue our fall series, Roots Down: Exploring through the Old Testament and the Monastic Tradition.  Today, Andrew Zawierucha will lead a discussion of “Strangers in a Strange Land: A People in Exile,” with a focus on Ezekiel.

Wednesday: there will be no Adult Formation on Wednesday evening, November 27.

Christmas Poinsettia envelopes are available in the pews until Sunday, December 8.  Giving a poinsettia that will decorate the church for the Christmas services is a beautiful way to remember and / or give thanks for the special people in our lives.  The Altar Guild requests a donation of $25.00 per plant.  Checks may be made payable to St. Paul’s, with Altar Guild in the memo line.  Please fill out the envelope with your name and the name of the person(s) for whom the poinsettia is being given and whether the poinsettia is being given in memory of, or in thanksgiving for that person.  Requests / donations may be placed in the collection plates or dropped off at the church office.  Christmas poinsettias may be taken home following the Christmas Day service.

ST. NICHOLAS IS COMING TO ST. PAUL’S:  The St. Nicholas tree is up and covered with tags identifying children in need served by local agencies.  Please take one or more of the tags from the tree and plan to join us for St. Nicholas Sunday on December 8th.  If your family would like to get gifts for all the children in a single family, there are family groups (with 2, 3, 4, or 5 children) on the small tree next to the St. Nicholas tree.  The tags are self-sticking and state whether to wrap the gift or not.  Bring your gifts to the church on or before noon on Dec 8th, since the gifts will be delivered to the service agencies that afternoon.

Extra undesignated and monetary gifts are welcome and will be used to purchase gifts and necessities at economical prices, when available.  These checks should be made payable to St. Paul’s and note in the memo “St. Nicholas Fund.”  If you have any questions, contact Colette Hibberd at 919-803-982.
