SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER will be held Tuesday, March 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Costs are $7 per adult: $3 for each school-age (K-12) child: pre-school-age children are free, and there is a cap of $20 per family. This event is sponsored by the Men’s Group and is a great way to start off your Lenten journey.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – Episcopal Coalition:
The Episcopal Coalition house started on March 2. St. Paul’s is responsible for providing volunteers on March 9. However, volunteers are needed every Thurs., Fri., or Sat. through April. Sign up at: vhub.at/episcopalbuild. Questions: contact Kevin McIntire at kvn.mcintire@gmail.com.

Sunday Morning: Join Carolyn Edge in the chapel today at 10:15 a.m. as we continue the series, Nurturing Faith: From Childhood to Adulthood. Today’s forum explores “Finding God in Everyday Life: Spiritual Direction.” Carolyn will discuss the art and practice of seeking God in our day-to-day lives.

Next Sunday, March 10, 2019, we will begin our Lenten series, A Great Cloud of Witnesses: Exploring the History of the Episcopal Church in North Carolina. The Rev. Dr. Brooks Graebner, retired as rector of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Hillsborough after 27 years, will lead the first two sessions.

Wednesday Evening: Our spring Wednesday evening series, beginning May 1, will be Finding God with Emily Dickinson. The leader, George Van Arnam, is a retired pastoral counselor.

RACIAL EQUITY INSTITUTE PHASE I TRAINING: The Racial Equity Institute (REI) workshop shifts the focus from individual bigotry and bias by presenting a historical, cultural, structural, and institutional analysis of race. Register on the St. Paul’s website by March 7 for this two-day training (April 10 and 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

Please only sign up if you can attend both full days. The cost is $275 for first-time participants and includes a light breakfast and lunch. The Outreach ministry has set aside scholarship funding to help those who would otherwise be unable to attend. Email Father Javier at javier@stpaulscary.org for more information about scholarship support. Please make your check payable to St. Paul’s and note “Racial Equity Institute” in the memo line. If paying for other individuals, please also include their names.

Children’s Ministries is hosting a special Communion Celebration coffee hour in the Parish Hall following the 9:00 a.m. service today. Please stop by to enjoy coffee and refreshments and to help celebrate this joyous occasion.

Next week is Scout Sunday and members of various local scout troops will be hosting coffee hour. Scouting fosters self-esteem, a sense of value and belonging, accountability, service, leadership, and teamwork. Stop by to learn more about opportunities in our area.

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER THEATER: Saturday, March 9 – 6:30 p.m.: Youth Ministry is proud to produce yet another tantalizing murder mystery designed to intrigue and entertain you. This year we will be performing The Dead Man’s Chest. Our mystery takes place in 1857 in New Orleans at a Mardi Gras Ball. We predict mayhem and murder will ensure. Come help discover who done it. ASP SPAGHETTI DINNER: Please join us Friday, March 22, from 6-8:00 p.m. for fellowship and fabulous food at our fundraiser. Individual plates are $5.00 for children and $8.00 for adults or feed the family for $20.00. There will also be an auction of baskets. Join us for a fun night! Our youth and adult volunteers will be volunteering with ASP in Kentucky during the week of June 23 – 29 this summer. SCOUT SUNDAY: St. Paul’s will recognize the citizenship and volunteer efforts of all Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts at the 9:00 a.m. service on March 10th. On Scout Sunday, Scouts and adult leaders will participate in a variety of roles such as greeters, ushers, or lectors. All Scouts and adult leaders are asked to wear their uniforms. MEN’S BEACH WEEK: Each year, the men of St. Paul’s gather in Emerald Isle for a week of fun at the beach – just to have a great time! This year, Men’s Beach week runs from Easter Sunday, April 21st through Sunday, April 28th. Choose to come for one or more nights – the sign-up sheet is in the narthex. CONCERT: The Choir of William & Mary, under the direction of James Armstrong, will give a concert on Friday, March 15 at 8:00 p.m. here at St. Paul’s. The program entitled Alleluia! Three Hundred Years of Celebration in Song will feature works from England, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Russia, and the United States by Buxtehude, Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, Chesnokov, Skulte, Gjeilo, Poston, Randall Thompson, Copland, Whitacre, as well as African-American spirituals arranged by Dawson and Belfield. One of our own, Sara Richard, is a member of the Choir. Admission is free and open to the public. All are welcome! Invite your friends.

HELP NEEDED RAISING MONEY FOR OUTREACH: Since 2013 the Arts & Crafts Festival has been raising money for outreach at St. Paul’s. In 2018 we raised over $7200. We need your help to continue this good work. Please consider joining the planning committee for this year’s festival on November 9.

We need volunteers in all areas. Are you an organizer? Do you love setting up displays? Will you have a few hours to transport tables on the weekend of the festival? This is a fun way to get involved at St. Paul’s. For more information, please email Sally Moller at sbm2@nc.rr.com.

• The Children’s Little Brown Stewardship Basket is working toward our 2019 Note in the Pocket Sort Day, scheduled for June 9, 2019. So far, we have collected $1660.57 toward our $3000 goal!
• Children’s Chapel will be held today at the 9:00 a.m. worship service and is open to all children ages 3 through 2nd grade. Please follow the Children’s Cross Processional after the Collect.
• Sunday School (Children’s Formation) continues today at 10:10 a.m. in the education building.
• Please join us for a special Ash Wednesday Service for children and their families on Wednesday, March 6 at 6:00p.m. This will be a brief service with a distribution of ashes.
• Easter Candy – we are accepting donations of individually wrapped, nut-free Easter candy for our Easter Egg Hunt. Please bring donations to the church office or to Christine Ingram. Thank you!
• VBS will be happening June 17-21, 2019! Be on the lookout for registration forms and more information coming soon!

• Youth Christian Formation: The lesson is entitled “In Relationships: Male/Female.” Middle School meets in the Youth Wing (go straight there, snacks are provided) and High School meets in Room 10.
• Murder Mystery Rehearsal 4-6 p.m.: This is our last regular rehearsal. Have ALL lines memorized.
• EYC Tonight 5-7 p.m.: It’s a regular EYC, so come ready for anything – fun, fellowship, and of course, food!
