Worship. Serve. Grow.

On November 3, 2024, the Rev. George Adamik retired after 25+ years of ministry at St. Paul’s. Over the course of the next year, our Rector Search Committee navigated the process of discerning who we are as a community, and what we hope for our future. Working with the guidance of the Diocesan Transition Ministry, candidates were reviewed, interviewed and finally presented to the vestry for the final decision.

On March 12, 2026, the vestry announced that the Rev. James Weldon, III, has been called to become the fourth rector of St. Paul’s. Fr. Jay will begin his ministry on April 15, 2026 and be present with us for his first Sunday, April 26, 2026.

You can read the announcement here, and watch a video introduction by Fr. Jay.

The Weldon family will be relocating from Newton, MA to Cary in April, and the vestry has several ways you can help us welcome them to St. Paul’s and Cary. Learn more here.

Thank you to all who were part of this process, through your input, your prayers, your work on the committee or your loving way of supporting one another through this period of transition.
