Meet Our New Diocesan Intern, Will Lee!

Hello, St. Paul’s! I am excited to meet you. By way of introduction, here is a little bit about me: I am originally from Charlottesville, VA, where I grew up on a horse farm. Currently, I am in my last year of the Master of Divinity program at Duke Divinity School. My focus there has been on the intersection of Christian vocation and ministry with the field of social work, as well as interests in pastoral care, embodied faith, incarnational theology, and liturgy. I first heard the whispers of a call to ordination in undergrad at William and Mary and decided to heed God’s call while in the Episcopal Service Corps after graduating. I am a lifelong Episcopalian, an avid cyclist and soccer player, and a sweet tea connoisseur. I live in Durham with my wife, Stephany, and our two boys, Noah and Christopher.

Fun Facts

Mountains or Sea: Live in the mountains, visit the beach. I like the beach, but it doesn’t like me.
Duke, State, or UNC: Duke, because it’s a fight I’d rather not pick with my sister.
Final meal: Jackfruit BBQ with fried okra, mac ‘n’ cheese, coleslaw, and hushpuppies, and a tall glass of ice cold sweet tea.
Favorite hymn and non-hymn: “Be Thou My Vision”, “Come Thou Fount”, and “What Wondrous Love” are in a three way tie. Currently, I’ve rediscovered Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic”, historically though, just about anything by the Eagles.
