Rev. Stephanie serves on a half-time basis, and her regular office hours are on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Beyond her regular liturgical and pastoral responsibilities, she provides support to the stewardship and pastoral care ministries.
Stephanie was born in Nassau, Bahamas, but lived in several different places, in the US and in the Bahamas as she was growing up. A preacher’s kid, Stephanie’s earliest memories are of living in New York as her father attended seminary. Several decades later, and after spending 20 years in banking, Stephanie discerned a call to the priesthood and followed her dad to seminary. Stephanie was ordained in the Diocese of Maryland and spent the early years of her ministry there.
In 2013 she was invited to come to North Carolina to serve as interim rector at St. Luke’s in Durham, when their rector, Anne Hodges-Copple, was elected suffragan bishop on North Carolina. Although she had planned to return to Maryland when the interim stint was over, Stephanie was happy to stay in Durham when she was called to become the vicar of St. Titus’ Episcopal Church. During her time at St. Titus’ the congregation moved from mission to parish status. Stephanie retired as the rector of St. Titus’ in 2021. Stephanie has stayed busy since retirement, most recently serving as co-interim rector, along with Cathy Deats, at Church of the Nativity in Raleigh. Stephanie is excited about serving at St. Paul’s and looks forward to getting to know the congregation.
